Thanks! :-)
I actually would have loved to have been in
the needle when the Feb 2001 quake hit. It
wasn't too bad, but the needle was reported
to have swayed and rocked a bit. It'd be
kind of cool, in a terrifying way. :-)

Awesome! There's your postcard shot! It
doesn't get any better than that. Such
clarity. I see you shoot on Canon. What
lens were you using?

Thank you for your kind words, Immortal
Thrill-Seeker. :-)
I make it a point to shoot from Kerry
Park for a few hours each day each time I'm
in the city. Sometimes, I win. Sometimes,
not so much.
I shot this with a Canon 10D and my
cheapie Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 II Macro
'Super' lens. That lens has taken beating,
but still works quite well.
I hope to someday replace it with a nice L
series with IS. ahhh, someday.

Thanks for letting me know which lens you
were using. I've been trying to figure out
which zoom lens is the best for the money.
Canon's cheap $150 zoom is way too soft. I
think the Sigma may work for my needs. True,
it's not an L with IS, but it looks sharp
enough until I can pony up a grand or so.
Yes, someday : )

Immortal, it's not the fastest lens and it's
certainly not the quietest.... but I have to
say that I've never regretted the purchase.
I recommend it as a 'get along' until you can
get the green to go for the big guns. Each
payday, it's all I can do to pay the bills
before I go hopping over to the local camera
store. If I stopped there before sending out
the monthly payments, I'd be in BIG trouble!

cool shot to the left with the amusement park
in action
Whenever i go up there at night giant
lights for the stadium or something at the
seattle center are on, which forces ya to
shoot more to the right kinda.

Thank you, jacobC and phillipschip! :-)
jackobC, the trick is to get there as late
as possible. We usually arrive before sunset
and stay until nearly midnight or one AM.
(although, I'm weird like that and we did
drive a terribly long way just to see this
view. :-) ) The trick is to get your shot
in before the Seattle Center amusement park
closes for the night. I've been bit by that
goof before. :-)

I love city skyline shots. The Space Needle
sets it apart though.

Thx for the fave, Kyle. This is my favorite
place to shoot from in Seattle. The park
overlooks the skyline. On a clear day, you
can see Mount Rainier, too.
It's also one of my favorite skylines in
the US.
