i hope you get another camera soon, kelly --
though you are taking such beautiful grainy
photos with the one you dropped, and maybe
you can keep it, use it whenever you want to
express that kind of feeling -- like the
feeling of this one, your mom dancing, with
the light, the overhanging branches, the
ocean. It looks like she is raising her arms
in greeting to the ocean and sky. What a
beautiful photo. I can also relate to your
sadness and the pull of love for you -- the
way her mind is peeling away layers (maybe
bringing her to her essential core ...) and
the feelings you will have inevitably as she
prepares to leave, to move to the mainland.
It must be so difficult for you at times,
seeing the two most important people in your
life right now, somehow fading. Yet you amaze
me with your perserverance, Kelly! The way
you keep your heart open to whatever is
possible. I wish you a clear mind, a strong
will and a softening heart. In all of this.

She is Our Heart!
It is ironic that our Flickr birthdays are
18 "days" apart, mine is coming (or
so I am reminded as I log in). I am so
grateful that you joined Flickr and looked at
my pictures and commented on the picture of
the grape hyacinths among the apple trees in
bloom in the north Willamette Valley. My
heart has ached ever since....with a fervent
desire to know all about you, your loved ones
and your life! Thank you from the bottom of
my heart for allowing me to be part of it. I
am grateful, Kelly. So very grateful.
St. Francis said Pax et Bonum and Mother Teresa said, Let's
do something beautiful for God today!. Thank you for following the footsteps of
the saints. Myself, Dj-san, Dominic (from
afar but ever so close) and Bear, Bandit,
little Rodney, and Mollie all are grateful
for you in our lives.
Tonight when I get home to my safe haven, I

when you get a new camera, keep this one for
specialty shots. this is beautiful. my
heart goes out to you for what you're going
through these days. i love your mom dancing.
clear where you got your spirit. you might
look at the panasonic lumix, the new one. i
had one that got ruined in a kayak overturn,
and i loved it. lots of people, like
chuckwheat, use this camera. it's very
light, and it's got an 18x zoom. i still
like canons, but this is a pretty nice
camera.
