It was a windy day in San Francisco, and my hair blew into my face, whipping me with tiny little needles across my nose. I stood with my arms out on Deadman's Point above China Beach, taking in the force of the wind as it blew over the ocean.
Then I saw a hummingbird. He darted out of a flowering bush and was immediately blown back toward Oakland on a huge gale of wind. I last saw him, a tiny little pinprick, sailing over the Golden Gate Bridge.
I hoped his wife would understand when he didn't come home for dinner.

Great reflection in the water. It's kind of
odd to have a shadow at night like that. I
like this viewpoint, other than the fact that
it's always been scary dark up on that
winding road. It makes the bridge look so
BIG.

Bridge Junkie, this is so wonderful. You
capture the prettiest moments in the life of
a bridge. I mean, seriously. Lucky for us
admirers, you happened to be here at this
very moment capturing another wicked-great
long-exposure night-bridge shot. But how
many other sunsets did this bridge watch from
it's lofty, spanning perch? Maybe you were
still working ... or travelling ... or
meeting a flickr pal in a local coffee shop.
But this bridge? Always on point. Always
watching the fog and the sunsets. Always
there for us. All we have to do is scramble
up to Deadman's Point, brave the elements
with camera in-tow, and we can lay witness to
... a bridges delight... .

They don't call it the Golden Gate Bridge for
nothin'. That golden reflection in the water
is beautiful. The soft ripples of water to
the right of that reflection, smoothed out by
long exposure, are really pretty as well.
