Tree Lava

The crazy strong winds and a couple of ice storms did in the biggest and strongest trunk on the Arbor Day river birch I planted in 1990. This is the result of the poor dear's wound hemorrhaging all over the place. It looks like the aftermath of a fire in a candle shop or something.
