City of Laughter

Part of an exercise in randomness:
Choosing 3 different sentences at random in a random book (the 1945 post-war edition of National Geographic) and making a strip out of them. The words were:

1.City of Laughter (1st one had to be the title)
2.A monstrous furnace
3.Silk-swathed luxury amongst the ruins
