Phew. I still need to sew in the ends on a most of them, and then of course sew them together... and then I'd like to do a picot edging around the whole thing, but look - I only need one more square! (I have it almost finished, but just not *this* finished) Because I am crazy, I did the final row in each square in dark brown, then a border of single crochet black after that. You can't really tell in this photo, but it makes some weird difference to me in person ;)
I think it's a decent size - it's laid out on my queen bed, and with a border or two, I think it will be just right! (and this is not going to be the final layout-plan, either!)
(straight off the camera b/c I don't feel like opening Photoshop... I think it's worth a view at the Large size)

it's lovely! i've thought about making one
of these; the squares are fun to make,
portable, and you can do a bit here and there
and then someday you get something this
pretty. well, hopefully:-)

Gorgeous! Can't wait to see a photo when it's
finished.
Are granny squares hard to do? I keep
meaning to teach myself crochet. I have two
beginner books so I should make use of them!

Thanks pinprick! Yes, the little bit here and
there has been *great* in between other
projects. You should make one!
pinkbreeze, thank you, too! :) They really
aren't hard to do at all. I think they are
good beginner projects, all you really have
to understand is double and single crochet.
Plus, they make good use of scraps, and I
think the cheaper the yarns the better! hehe

Anja - it's not hard! Do you know how to
crochet at all? If you do, even just a little
bit, I bet you could make one :)

the colours you've chosen are great! i
started a granny square tonight and was going
to use random ends that i have, but have
decided that i want a blanket that has a bit
more order to it. i'm examining colour
combinations as i look through photos.

thanks! doing this scrappy sort of look goes
against my natural tendencies, but I like the
effect :) Have fun with yours, it is time
consuming but addicting at the same time :)
