@Gavin: It's a combination of the soft-focus
effect I explain here, and high-pass sharpening. If you play around with the radius setting
on the high-pass filter, you can get effects
similar to what you see in some of Bekon's or Shadowplay's photos. It's not exactly the same, but if you don't have the money to
fork-out for the plugin that Shadowplay uses,
it's a decent substitute. I have a bit more
nuclear example of the high-pass filter here.

I had never seen a gold bug before. And then
I noticed it was in front of a blue door. And
then I noticed that the door had gold
doorknobs. You can't really ask for a better
coincidence, can you?

Just yesterday I saw a silver-plated bug!
I think that is diffucult to see any kind
of car in gold colouring :-)
Your shot is uncommon like the car you
reproduced.

This photo has been included on iPods sent to
US Senators as part of the iPac "Your Senator needs an iPod" program.
(Apparently they send iPods to Senators to
educate them about intellectual property
issues in the digital age; they've included
101 Creative Commons-licensed Flickr images
on the iPods. I've got nothing to do with
them, except that one of my images was included as well.)
