The (not very) Secret Garden

The entrance to the Secret Garden at Blenheim Palace, Oxfordshire.

The garden was created by the 10th Duke of Marlborough in 1951 but was not maintained after his death in the 1970s. On the instruction of the current (11th) Duke, the garden was carefully restored and was reopened at Easter 2004 to mark the 300th anniversary of the Battle of Blenheim.

This puzzled me too when I visited. Wondered if it was a clever diversionary tactic to lead you away from the real secret garden, or one of those clever arty sculptures that is trying to make some sort of philosophical statement... ;~)
