The eBeam software lets you define a hot spot on the board to contain the "New Page" and "Print Page" buttons. When you click the marker inside the hotspot, the software performs the action. I wanted to route the whiteboard to an internal website, but the software doesn't provide for user defined buttons.

Instead, I set up a "printer" on a Linux box that converts postscript to png, and posts the result to an online photo album. Samba is used to share that printer over the network. The box running the whiteboard software is set up to use the generic "MS Publisher Color Printer" driver to talk to the samba share, as the default printer. The result is that you can click "Publish Page" on the whiteboard, and the image will appear a few seconds later on an internal web page for all to see.

The printer is a perl script listening on a socket. I got the idea, and most of the code, from this page. My version of the script is here.
