I recommend you getting it cut like mine.

Well, my brothers are always telling me I
need to shave my head with them in their
'Shave Off' that they've had a couple of
times. Everybody shaves their head and sees
who's hair grows back the fastest... They
still haven't convinced me to go that far.

You have gorgeous hair and you look very nice
with long hair. However, if you're itching
for a change, I say go short, not to short. I
think you would as nice with short hair. =)

Speaking as someone who grows then chops,
then grows, I say -- if you're thinking about
it, do it. It'll always grow back. (When in
doubt, set aside time to talk to a stylist to
help you decide). Your hair really is
gorgeous though!

I'm a sucker for girls with long hair... I
love it!! However I don't think thats gonna
have any impact on your decision lol!
You could do what my friend did. She got a
lock of it and put it in a photoframe along
with a couple of photos and her baby name
tag. Mind you it hadn't really been cut since
she was born and it was down to her bum.

I have short hair and it looks different

want long hair but I wouldn't be able to do
nearly as much with it. *grin*

My vote goes to growing it out until it's
long enough to donate. Then cut it off (if
you want).
It's hair. It grows back.

It'll take quite a while to grow it that long
again.
Taking pride in caring for longer hair
would be more worthwhile, at least that's
what I think.

Wow you look great!
I don't know if you should cut your hair or
not. It looks great as it is. I got my hair
cut in december 2005, really really short.
And I didn't really like it, but I were happy
that I did it.
But you should really be sure, if you want
to cut it or not before you would get it done
:)

You only need 10 inches to donate to LoL, and
only 8 inches for Pantene's donation program.
You could donate without getting an extreme
haircut, if you wanted.

ninjapoodles: Locks of Love has made very few
wigs in relation to the vast numbers of hair
donations it has received. Almost all of the
donations are SOLD. They receive about 10,000
donations a month; they have produced only
about 3,000 wigs in 10 YEARS! Do the math.
LOL has a cash reserve that steadily grows
year after year. Beware of that outfit!

@anthony thompson - I understand that you are
a long-hair fetishist, and I've already had
to remove your comments from my OWN thread
about cutting and donating my hair, because
you took something that was done in a
charitable spirit (not
"considering" being done; ALREADY
done) and TRASHED it in multiple comments, so
I'm well aware of your feelings on the
subject. What's the matter--couldn't come up
with any dirt on Pantene's donation program
yet? Besides, your "facts" on LoL
don't quite match up with public record. We
get it--although you've changed your faves so
they're not saturated with long hair photos
since last I encountered you: YOU LIKE LONG
HAIR. The longer, the better. All women
should grow and grow their hair and NEVER cut
it, EVER. OK. GOT IT.

Actually, I haven't changed any of my faves -
just added to them as the months go by. The
facts I mention come from two sources - LOL
itself and BBB charity reports over the
years. I can be more specific if you wish.
I don't know anything about the Pantene
program. Sorry.

The Better Business Bureau’s Wise Giving
Alliance report, valid through April 2007,
states that at the time the report was
published Locks of Love did meet all twenty
of its "Standards for Charity
Accountability."
According to the latest report available on
the Charity Navigator site (Fiscal Year Ended
11/04), Locks of Love scored an overall
rating of 68.11 out of 70 (“four stars”).
Donations of hair can also be made through
plenty of other sources:
Pantene's "Beautiful Lengths"
program for chemo patients
Wigs for Kids, benefitting children who've lost hair due
to medical circumstances
Sofia's Hair For Health, which provides free hair
"prostheses" for those in cancer
treatment who can't afford them
In the UK, The Little Princess Trust provides hairpieces for children undergoing
cancer treatments.
I'm sure there are more.

little curious- how exactly did you guys come across my photo
and why are you arguing?

Me, I just stumbled across it yesterday
through comments somewhere else, and clicked
over, and thought it was a neat photo (and
the 100,000th 365!). I wouldn't have
commented at all beyond my first short note
about the Pantene program only requiring 8
inches, if I hadn't recognized one of the
posters who left several stalkerish comments
on my OWN post several months ago AFTER I'd
already cut my hair and donated it to
charity. He literally ranted about how
stupid I was and what a mistake I'd made, and
how much better I looked BEFORE I cut my
hair. At the time, the majority of his
photos and faves featured just women's
hair--LONG hair. Creeped me out a little,
since the only way he'd have found my photo
was through searching keywords like
"haircut," etc.
I apologize for hijacking your thread.
Feel free to delete at will, of course.

Bradi,
Please compare our comments; I'll leave it
up to you to decide who is the intemperate
one (and who may be a haircut fetishist).
I was indeed wrong about my comments on
LOL. I had written that they had produced
only about 3000 wigs in 10 years. In fact, I
just checked their site (under the history
tab) and it turns out that "to date,
over 2000 children have been helped".
That works out to about 200 wigs a year.
Looking at the BBB site, it states that
their "program expenses" for one
year were $469,026.00. That works out to over
$23,000.00 per wig. So i think you can decide
for yourself whether LOL is a worthy charity!

Which is why I provided all the other links
to hair donation charities. You've outed me
as a "haircut fetishist," because I
do, indeed, get a haircut about twice a year.
My mistake was in donating what got cut the
last time and posting it where you could see
it. You got me, you clever, clever man. I'm
done with you, and apologies again to
.Bradi., who should probably delete this
whole nonsense.
