Carolina Wren

This is the mother wren who perched a few feet from me this morning during prayer, July 12, 2008 so I could take her picture up close.She has been feeding her babies in a nest in our garage. I watch out for the cat. The babies were chirping very audibly this morning when she comes to feed them. I thought today might just be the day they would first fly. She has been calling for them constantly, urging them to join her away from the nest, to come over where she is so she can feed them away from the nest. So any moment now, they will go for it.

This Carolina Wren was imaged at my home in Warren County, Mississippi with a Nikon D50 with a 200 mm focal length lense and was cropped down to size and touched up slightly with Adobe PhotoshopCS2. with minor layer adjustments.

Hoang Liem Anova and Vo Thi Do are my Vietnamese parents who lived in My Luong, Vietnam.
This is the very happiest image of them together, the way I shall always remember them.

Our daughter Liem Anova is named for her grandfather.

My Luong, Vietnam is not on the map yet. It is a short bus ride from Long Xuyen. It is a village on the Mekong River, south of Saigon or Ho Chi Minh City.

We had this house built for my parents in My Luong, Vietnam. I spent three weeks there in February 1993. I think I was the only American there then.
The kids were all so special. They followed me everywhere I went.
