No offence for the photographer, but I do not
understand how such a shot was chosen for the
Flickr homepage .. it is quite banal and,
moreover, it is quite clear the it did not
undergo any particular treatment but only a
wrong balancement of white... :-(((

no offense, but I think this photo sucks...
It appears to have no artistic value,
unless you consider the intense yellow from
the overhead light to be artistic.
I mean, while we're at it... why don't we

I like the flickr choice, and I don´t agree
with the people who boo the picture. Flickr
is not just a gathering for pro
photographers. It´s also an online
illustrated diary of people´s life. Many
people is in the first team, which I love,
others are more mixed and others are
definitely in the second group. And Flickr
has to represent everybody.
Anyhow, photography is not just a
technique. It´s also about capturing the
beautiful and the dark in this world. Try to
take things easier, guys. :)

Seeing this image was a pleasant surprise!
Flickr is packed with images of women. I
think this man's self portrait was a very
unique choice for the homepage. In fact, if
this image was exactly the same with a female
subject no one would have a negative comment!

This shot is great for so many reasons. The
unique yellow color tones, the artistically
candid off angle and geometric lines,
lighting across the skin, and of course a
decent model obviously. I'm glad flickr
doesn't just put Pro-only stuff on the
opening pages. This is a real life image and
f*ck*n' awsome for that reason.
Many have posted the "bathroom
mirror" theme to their streams including
myself. But yours just plain sticks out from
the others for obvious and unknown reasons.
Congratulations on the home page selection
