very nice. i used a bit of trickery to see
the large size and it's pretty good! it's
noisy, but the noise looks more like film
grain than the nasty, blotchy noise we're
used to seeing from digital. i'd be
interested in seeing some handheld night
shots at iso6400. also, is that a second
shutter button under your right hand? it's
great you don't have to buy a battery grip to
get that functionality. cheers!

strange coincidence, I just opened my Canon
birthday lenses. Almost got the new f2 200mm
one, but went for the more versatile 70-200
f2.8 instead, and a 1000mm mirror lens for
fun. =)

Congratulations!!!
I got a d300 which I am more than happy
with for the price point...even in lowlight
it performs pretty great and the grain at
high ISOs is lovely.
This big daddy is on another level
altogether...enjoy

oh birdznest, i am so sorry!!! i was soooo
close to switching too. canon is still
amazing though, and a red and black colour
scheme beats red and yellow any day :)
as for price, the best i found was at camera direct, they were cheap, efficient and easy to deal
with. I had the camera within 24 hours

Lucky You!!
I got a D300 at the weekend and I too was
amazed at the ISO 6400 performance. I wasn;t
sure that the D300 would be much of an
improvement on my D80 but Nikon have made so
many improvements in so many areas. It really
is exciting to use.

Good for you!! I used our D3 this weekend
for a wedding in Las Vegas and WOW, am I glad
I had it. VERY low light inside the
reception and the things you can do with that
thing is just amazing!! I know you'll have a
lot of fun with it!

What timing to see this killer shot of yours!
:-) I'm getting ready to go shoot some
surfing in a couple of hours, at dawn, and

ISO, and, oy! I could sure use that extra
