Thanks Maria :)
I flogged them from a fish and chip shop
north of Mackay. ;-)
hehehe The Koala is a "Beanie Baby
(tm)" that was given to me by friends
when I visited the US waaaay back in '99.
It's far from perfect, but given the
equipment I think it turned out ok. :)

Very nice work David. I love the minimalist
approach to lighting. I'm looking to get into
some Strobist magic myself soon.

I still need to get a flash I can reliably
change the output on and some triggers of
some sort, so far my forays into off-camera
lighting have all been long exposures and
handheld, manually triggered flash (single
only).

Either the Vivitar 285HV, Canon 430EX or
Canon 580EX II will work beautifully
depending on your budget. I'm about to get
the 430EX, with a view to get a Vivitar 285HV
in the future as a second strobe.
I'm about to get the "eBay
triggers" people on Strobist use.
Hopefully they will be reliable, give me
wireless freedom but not cost half of my
original body purchase.

My plan is for a 580exII to give me the
freedom to use ETTL-II and allow for
expandability with infrared remote/slave
later.
I've been thinking about the eBay triggers,
or maybe some Skyports...
Pocket Wizards would be nice but maybe not
until I can save up considerably more.

Do you belong to that strobist group on
flickr, also theres an inventive one, not
sure what they are called, I have just for a
good read, and ideas when I might need
them.....will find the links

There you go my friend- you may of course
already know/belong to said groups : )

Yep already an avid reader of strobist :)
But I wasn't aware of the funkyinnovations
group - that one looks like it needs more
investigation :)

essentially a test shot.

I'm not sure Hubby would approve ;-)
(hint: Strobist = One who strobes, thus a
strobist is a person who uses strobes (or
small flash units)).

Thanks for the hint! (o^^o)
Yeah...hubby has been complaining about my
photography expenditure lately.
Sigh.
I can't wait for Christmas and I wish I
have two birthdays. (o^^o)

You're welcome. In retrospect I think I
should have put the flash on full power and
somehow gobo'd it to avoid light spillage on
the rest of the koala, but then it was only a
test shot.
