ribs the walls of shadow
melding the end of the sun
with the beginning of the dark
there is a tranquility of moments

a passing of thought into fatigue
a sweet tiredness of an accomplished hour
letting the empty light
transform into dances
of streams of visions
of dreams past

when the dying light of the day
makes a last stand on the den wall
and the dust is exposed in bands
intersected by the blinds

there is the satisfaction of the quiet
knowing that all that could be done
has been done
and all that remains
is to rest
to sleep
to seek the placidity of lucid dream
to carry
you to the next dawn.
