A member had some difficulty with the CMYK equivalents in regards to RGB. You can use the eyedropper tool and click on this chart I made for the specific color. I added some additional gradient steps on the bottom portion that has 50% of additional process colors added across.

I thought this was a really nice original. The model is posed very well and I liked her expression very much. The contrast on the gloves was very nice too. I compiled a couple of images on several layers and applied different lighting effects to the layers as well.
I used the lasso tool with a feather of 33 to roughly outline the model's face and glove. I copied this to two new layers. The first one had 40% opacity. On the second layer I reselected a smaller portion of the face and glove with the same feather, selected inverse...then delete...twice.
Thanks citymorningblue for letting me work on your awesome photo.

I lreally thought this photo was so well done. The expressions and the composition is excellent. The photographer had asked to re-work the color some. So, I first converted the image to CMYK and highlighted the Yellow channel. The image then appears as a greyscale (B&W) image, which I lightened quite a bit. I then selected the CMYK combined channel to check the changes. I aslo added a bit of contrast to the black (K) channel which can help bring out some details and define them better.
I then used the lasso tool and selected the background on both sides with a feather of 33 pixels. I applied some darkness to this. I then used the lasso tool with different amounts of feather to select portions of the portrait to add brightness and color balance to. I touched up a couple of light flares on the floor below the tree and extended the maroon fabric on the right. I airbrushed the tag from the Santa and lit the lamp with a copy of the panels on a blurred layer with a screen mode. And a couple of lensflares on the tree lights.
Thank you Kimmylyn for letting me work on your wonderful photo. You did a great job to capture the lights on the tree as well as the great expressions.

I thought this was such a lovely photo. The subtle lighting and posture of the models is great. I first used the "magic wand" tool with a tolerance of about 30 I selected, and reselected the water, holding the shift key down to add to the selction. Once I had most of the water selected...including by her hands and ribbon...I adjusted my tolerance to 4 and chose "grow" from the pull down menu. This added to the selection enough to include all of the water. I then chose expand from the section menu and set for 8 pixels, then feathered to 4. I copied and pasted this to a new layer.
I went to the background layer and duplicated and used two spotlights to add a little more to the highlights of the models. I used a yellow light on the right and a white light on the left. I adjusted the contrast on the water a bit and applied 3 pixels of median noise to help smmoth it. I used the airbrush ereser to bring the ships back out.
Thank you Cheyenne Ja 'Nice (Happy Sunbeam) for letting me work on your wonderful photo.
