Shared this shot with Andrew from Ecco. He stopped by for a surprise visit, which is always a pleasure. he had a regular shot and then I poured this from the triple basket hoping to impress him with the smoother characteristics. Instead the shot was strangely intense. What I would call an MSG shot. You know, flavor enhanced (and not in a good way).

I haven't worked too much with triple baskets... but almost all of the time, I'm getting that "MSG" shot... just too overpowering. Maybe I'm just dosing too much. What do you guys do at Blue bottle? 	dogmilque says: Well it's been restricted to the willingness of who's on bar to experiment. We're current overdosing standard LM double baskets to hopefully 21grams. The triples get the standard dose (21 grams) which is achieved by not "settling" the coffee in the portafilter as you grind. If you have any suggestions, i'm all ears. Posted 36 months ago.
