Papal Visit to the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception

On April 16, 2008, Pope Benedict XVI visited the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception to celebrate Vespers with the nations bishops and address them. Crowds gathered to watch the Papal motorcade, and Dominicans were invited to watch from the steps of the Shrine and usher guests in the upper church of the shrine. Additionally, Dominicans both in and outside the shrine led a preaching program to prepare for the Holy Father's arrival.
