@Mevrow Walvis: I don't think that Wollmeise yarn pools. It
just makes huge spiral stripes that would
look like pooling at first. You just have to
keep knitting with it. Oh, and don't think
I'd be fooled into thinking that you would
order just this one colourway. I know that
you'll end up with at least four hanks. ;-p

Right now, I'm knitting socks in 'Dani' over
72 stitches, 2mm circulars. The pooling is
such that the left of the sock is blue, the
other half is brown. I have decided that I
like it, as it looks totally unusual and it
has given me yet again inspiration to add an
unusual detail.
Going into the cuff, I miscalculated and
knitted over 74 stitches for a bit. Already
the colours started striping. It is actually
the reason that I started to count the
stitches...and decreased 2.
This proves that just two stitches more or
less will give you pooling - and is that so
bad...?- or none at all.
I have no magic number of stitches though.
It will depend totally on gauge.

@Mevrouw Walvis: I'm going to try holding back though. :-p
Don't have that much money to spend.
@Yarnissima: Yeah, the pooling in Wollmeise is pretty
unique. I usually like it. :-)

@Katnhat: Well, it depends on what you want to learn.
I actually learned a lot more from the
internet than from a book. Try KnittingHelp.com for a start. Otherwise the books that I have
are Pam Allen's "Knitting for
Dummies" and Debbie Stoller's
"Stitch 'n Bitch".
