47/365: With Mom

This is me with my mom, thanks to the 10 second timer on my camera. I went to visit here today to see her before she starts Radiation and Chemo next week for throat cancer. Her prognosis is really well that she will beat it, but she is not in the greatest of health, so I really hope that all goes well for her. She is a very determined individual though and has always dealt with a lot of adversity. Smoking for the last 30+ years is most surely the cause. I'm sad to say that although the first batch of radiation starts Monday, she has still not quit smoking. What does it take? I'm afraid I probably know that answer. If everything goes well, in a few months I'll be posting this in the Cancer Survivors pool.
