I'm old enough. Wonderful photo. There was
such hope for her. But I gather her life
became very messy and sad later on.

I even remember Olga Korbut...and the
Protopovs in pairs skating (skating still
being my favorite of the sports).
This is a stupendous catch.
Thanks for keeping up with me; it's good to
be back (and I hope work doesn't overwhelm
again anytime soon).

Unbelievable performance. Great capture
here, e2e. She seemed to transcend what was
human and celebrate it at the same time.
Certainly she was not super-human, but
almost.

Okay... so now I'm all jealous and stuff.
Never mind.
Lucky, lucky, lucky you and what a great
shot you came away with!
Beautiful balance. Perfect for Nadia. Man
this is great! I particularily like the
sweetness of the black and white tonal values
and the velvety blackness of the floor.
Hey, didn't I see this in Life Magazine?

...I can recall watching a movie - about
1986, I guess - in which I could see how
perfect she was.
This photo, like the other one, is SO
intense, dramatic, so really special moment
to capture an artist's feeling and breath!
I am not surprised that you had in 1997 the
same EYE, quality for images, sense of
background, light and specially the right
timing to get the theme.
Very well done, Dave... magical and SUPERB
; ))))

I love the way the strong vertical line in

flexibility in her spine.

Love Olga Korbut more but Nadia was very
good. Todays gymnasts are whores in leotards,
literally. As a former gymnast I know. Judges
sexually sleep with some gymnasts to get
favoritism. It's sad but true. And coaches
are horrible as well. Diet till death? I
think not.

Whores in leotards?
That seems a bit harsh.
I'm sure they are very professional at
their sport.

No sport or profession is entirely free of
corruption, greed, immorality, etc. But (I
agree with L4W) it's unfair to generalize,
even if some groups seem to have more
problems than others.
