NY Celebration FOR the Turkeys 2007

On November 17, friends of farm animals gathered at Farm Sanctuary's New York Celebration FOR the Turkeys to take part in a unique and compassionate alternative to the traditional Thanksgiving holiday. As part of our nationally recognized and celebrity supported Adopt-A-Turkey Project, this special event places turkeys at the center of attention, rather than at the center of the Thanksgiving table.

Most importantly, the Celebration FOR the Turkeys is an occasion for animal lovers to gather and appreciate the distinct personalities, behaviors and desires of turkeys. This annual event offers shelter time with the rescued sanctuary residents, special guest presentations, children’s activities, and a delicious vegan holiday dinner. The highlight of the event—the Feeding of the Turkeys Ceremony—invites guests to feed turkeys their very own feast of stuffed squash, cranberries and pumpkin pie!
