This bike is almost certainly not a true fixed gear. It is a singlespeed made to look like a "fixie". Check this link for lots of info on fixed gear bikes.

Yeah, I know. I just used 'fixie' reflexively. I actually lifted the rear tire and spun the pedals backwards to check. Since I've been riding a fixed gear, I'm used to assuming everyone else with no gears is too.
