Magnetic Ink, test 05
To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player .
Made in much the same way as the Ink Trails experiments. Magnetosphere, with a black and white facelift, runs to audio by the Flashbulb (Kirlian Isles II). For 100 frames, each of the 2000 particles rains ink down onto the paper. If the particle should pass through the paper, it leaves traces of this passage. At the end of the 100 frames, all the geometry collapses onto the paper and then the cycle starts again.
For this version, every 300 frames, the current image blurs a tiny bit. Check the
full res version for the yummy.

That full res blows my mind. Can't believe it
reacts to sound.
Are you planning an iTunes addition?

James: A Realtime version of this would
rule, but as it stands, it gets about 1 or 2
fps. Not quite visualizer material. But
maybe in a couple years...
Mokaschitta: Yeah, I had a tough time with
that decision. The entire peice is centered
around the black orbs in the middle. Since I
cannot plan which way the 'hair' will grow
out, I decided to leave it as is.
Mikey: Danke! Maybe if you will meet me
for drinks like we planned oh so many weeks
ago, I might surprise you with a birth of
jesus print.

This is the visual quality I aspire reaching
some day with code. impressive. The idea with
the blurring gives it a lot of depth. WIll go
and give that a try once I come around to
coding again.
