If you look at this photo and cannot smile,
then something is really, really wrong.
Great portrait!

It looks like she's wearing some kind of
burka though you can't really tell. If she is
there's an argument that says a less tight
crop would make a more interesting - and
maybe even more charming - picture.

I think it is a wonderful photo. She is a
perfect representative of all gappy six year
olds the world over. Wouldn't change a thing.

[Ruthless Critiques] I agree with zorilla:
less crop; I'd like to see more of her
cheeks.

RC: I like the tight crop because I get to
focus on the eyebrows and the laugh lines and
the tilt back of the head - etc. With more
face, I wonder if all those elements would be
so much in the foreground.

Absolutely not bothered by the crop, I think
it works well tight. Great tones, great
moment, nice grab. It almost looks like the
RC icon!

[ruthless critique] I find photos like this
to be so fatiguing...it's so nice and
inspirational that I feel like I'm being lied
to, like a "enjoying your fucking bowl
of cherries" sort of thing.

RC. technically and formally a beautiful
photo. i think the crop serves well to
repeat the squished feel of the tounge
through the teeth. overall i'm personally
not drawn to this image much. it is just
like a lot of other images i've seen of cute
kids.

Though overall, I like the tight crop, the
more I look at it, I can't help but wonder
how much she's genuinely smiling and how much
she is forcing a smile or perhaps it's some
other expression all together. This leads me
to think I'd like to see a bit more of her
cheeks so we can see how far that
"grin" goes.

educate them about intellectual property

101 Creative Commons-licensed Flickr images
on the iPods. I've got nothing to do with
them, except that one of my images was included as well.)
