Alaskan Red Fox photographed in the summer of 1965. This was the second summer that we were living at Kukak Bay doing archaeological work and the foxes were becoming very friendly. One would sit at the edge of our excavation and watch us for long periods (and occasionally fall asleep --- archaeology is not that exciting to watch). The one in this photo seemed to love being photographed and would every once in a while put its nose on the lens of the camera while I was trying to take its picture.
