All I can hope for is that Henry is even half
as beloved by a tiny fraction of the people
whose lives Ben touched.
A true embassador that will be sorely
missed.

I'm so sorry. I could just tell he's a sweet
dog, and I hoped he would continue to hang
out with you a while. Maybe he figured he'd
taught McKenzie the important things. I hope
you heal quickly. I know we have beloveds at
the Bridge, and I suspect Flatcoats and
Bulldogs are good friends, as their people
are here. :)
Take care,
Margaret

I am so deeply sorry. A bulldog passed over
related to two of mine and was just three
years old and no signs. He just was listless
the other morning and here he had a huge
tumor that started to bleed and they had to
put him down. It's so hard ...and my heart
goes out to you!

What a glorious picture of Ben, Gina! I know
you told me that Ben had as long a life as
you could possibly hope for, but I also know
that not having him here with you is so
painful. (((Gina))) - thank you so much for
sharing your dear boy with us. If these dogs
didn't love us so much, they wouldn't take
such a big part of our hearts with them when
they go.

My deepest sympathies. I've been there, and
can imagine how you feel. At least you'll
have the good memories of him forever. I'm
not terribly sure there's a heaven for
people, but I know there's one for dogs. I
can think of no spirits more deserving.

I kept thinking of Ben all night and a poem
with his name was running through my
head.....Robert Frost's Stopping by Woods on
a Snowy Evening....
Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
Still thinking of you in your time of
grief....

So sad to hear this... It's always terrible
to say good bye to an old and special friend
like Ben...
But if it can be of any comfort to you, I
know that he is happy and healthy at the
other side of the rainbow, playing with some
new friends that just parted these last
days...

Ben. We just found out. He was an ikon to us
and his character radiated from your photo's,
Gina. So hard to accept that dogs are
shorttimers compared to humans.
On top of everything that he was in the
flesh Ben was one of the great photodogs.
Our candle burns for Ben tonight.
