I was at Washington Park in Springield, illinoisenjoying the great day and trying to capture some of it. There was a part of the park I really wanted to go to, but it was currently occupied by a wedding party. So, I stayed a good distance away and sat on a bench near the Bell tower to wait my turn.

As I waited, the thought came to me, "I wonder what the bell tower looks like from this angle?" I had taken many pictures of the same bell tower before, but I decided to just look up. I could see the wind blowing the branches and buds and forming leaves with their bright greens, and I enjoyed the serenity. I took this photo from a place and time I never would have noticed had I not just waited, rested and took in the beauty that was already around me.
