My favorite of the murals in the Roosevelt Building, it depicts a July day in 1900 when the then-governor of New York and Oyster Bay's most prominent resident, Theodore Roosevelt, laid a 3-foot-long cornerstone at the northeast corner of what would become the Nassau County Courthouse, the county's first municipal building.
