I talk a lot about the river near where I live, but it seems that maybe I talk about being there more than I am actually there. I decided to fix that yesterday. I packed up my foldy chair into my backpack and went for a half mile walk to this, my favorite spot. I had my trashy summer reading book and a bag of peanuts. From where I sat I could watch fly fisherman and little shore birds and cars go over the route 107 steel bridge.

I got antsy after a while and got up and took these pictures. At some point I was being nuzzled by a beagle and looked up and my friend and neighbor Jill was therewith her dog Bailey. Apparently she goes for this same walk pretty much every day. We talked for a while and realized the sun was setting so I packed up my stuff and we walked back to town. We saw a pair of beavers a little farther down the river and I swear I could hear one of them chewing on a tree.
