striking eyes...kind of bold of it to just
sit right in front of the feeder like that. I
would think it would wait a little farther
off.

Man - you shot through that little opening?
Love the light through the eyes.

The bird blasted through the feeding flock,
missed (but might have actually hit the
feeder itself) and landed on the fence a few
feet beyond the feeder.
Yeah, shot through the viewing slit. On
that blind they're just big enough for the
600. Steve was shooting with his (ex your)
300 2.8 as well.

Thanks. My profile shots were pretty
"dead" because of the direction of
the light.

Hi, Jim
Stupendous lighting in this shot. Just
can't beat side lighting. I like the way the
light plays upon the edges of the boards, and
of course, the way it gives depth to the
creature. As others have noted, the eyes are
striking. They seem to radiate light.
When I was a kid a wounded Coopers Hawk
spent about a week recuperating at our house
before taking wing again. The hawks are so
wild and noble!
