You know, I'm kicking myself that I didn't
get one. They were about $8 apiece and so
lovely. I just had bought so much stuff
already and Kat was lugging it in her bag for
me. I thought a parasol might be a friendship
breaker ;-).

Thank you guys! I love the patterns and
repetition here. And 45street - the lighting was really perfect to get the
best contrast from the parasols and I'm also

Parasols are a really important part of the
Laotian culture, aren't they? I remember the
pre-Communist government there used to give
out an award called the Order of the Million
Elephants and the White Parasol, or something
very close to that. I think it was a military
award of some kind, but I'm not sure. Very
nice photo, in any event.
