From the farmer's market.
I have a thing about eggshells...must crush them before discarding.

That's a beautiful shot. Great light and
DOF. You guys must have excellent natural
light in your house / kitchen because you and
Adam take the greatest food photos. I'm sure
they were delicious.

These eggs were delicious indeed. I am
grateful Kate captured the beauty of the eggs
here.

This is so funny, because about twelve hours
before you said that I was taking another
food picture (because the first time I took
it the photo didn't come out well), and Adam
and I were having a discussion about how hard
it is to photograph anything in that kitchen
at night. It ruins the color and texture.
That being said, I could not be happier
with this picture, just natural light. So
thanks!

Exactly! I do all my best cooking at night
and then the pictures I take of it are all
yellow - even when I set my light source to
"incandescent". ;-\ The only
mildly successful shots have been of bread
where A.) I bake loaves on Sunday and there's
still natural light and B.) the bread is
yellow already!
Anyway, whatever you are doing to get
around the issue is working because, again,
this is an excellent shot.

Yes, the yellowing! For the love of God, the
yellowing. I almost said that. It's very hard
to get a picture of saffron risotto. Also I
have a picture of cornbread that I took ages
ago that I cannot get to look right to save
my life. It's SO yellow.

*shaking fist in air like angry French taxi
driver* The yellowing!
An interesting book/movie quote:
"...and he writes about a wind, the
samoun, which a nation thought was so evil
that they declared war on it and marched out
against it in full battle dress. Their swords
raised." I wish to wage war upon the
yellowing, my camera raised.
Yup, I see your issue with the saffron
risotto (which, despite the yellow reaper,
still looks delicious). I'm quite proud of
my cornbread as well, but my pictures of it
end up looking like yellowcake freshly
removed from the reactor no matter how much
time I spend Photoshopping the thing.
Where do you and Adam take your food pics
that they turn out like this egg shot? Is it
natural light or did you use the flash? (EXIF
data is not available for this image)
Thanks!
