I think, the best part is the design, and I
saw it on Denyse Schmidt`s site.

Abmatic, I want to make a bigger one for me

but somehow it was not too fast. The quilting
took forever:-)

Kicsoda - I love this so much. I'd like to
make a slightly bigger version for my cousin
as a bridal shower gift. Could you tell me
how you make the color blocks? I've looked
everywhere for a pattern and can't find one.
Do you sew the color pieces right to the
white? Or do you form regular quilt blocks
for the areas that have color stripes?
THANK YOU!!

Katie, my version is not the original, I saw
only the finished quilt. So here is how I
made. It has 4(5) parts. White /colors with
white/ middle grey/colours with white/white.
First I cut 2, 2.5, 3inches stipes from the
colours, and from the white AND immidiately
sew white to the colours one side. I got same
lenght stipes (colours with wihte). Sew them
togeter (twice) into a big block or long
rectangle. These 2 will be the 2 main parts,
add the grey middle. And now when you see it
togerther you can decide about the whites.
I am not sure, whether it was clear, just
ask me:-))))!

Hello again - thanks so much for your
response back! I think I'm mostly
following... but how did you make sure it all
matched up? When you say you're cutting the
same size white, is that to put onto the end
of the color? (And match up with the
white/white pieces?) I've tried to create a
"pattern" via excel, but I'm a
little worried it won't look whimsical enough
if I follow this exactly...
Hmm.

Katie, you are right, the matching is the
real trick. After I made the stipes II added
white to the longer side, than the next
colour. I did it symmetrical, the two sides
together. If one was longer I corrected with
a narrower stipe, but tried not to be to
symmetrical. I know it is not what you really
wanted to hear, but this is how I made
it:-)))
Actually this quilt looks like as an easy,
fast one, for me it was not:-))) but
definitely worth to make.

Ez a takaró nekem is nagy rácsodálkozás volt
már korábban a képtáradban. Ilyet is lehet?
Egyszer hasonlót megpróbálok.

I have to tell this! I made it for a boy
before he was born. And I named it as a
rainbow quilt . What else:-) The boy was born
and his name is Noah!!! It was done before
the parents had this name.

I love it! I also like the Denyse Schmidt
quilts, but don't know where to buy the
patterns, and I prefer to free-style machine
piece anyways.
Your quilt is inspiring. I think I want to
make a yellow-green-blue one for my nephew.
