I love the position you've captured him in...

Yes of course, there are ocasions when a big
camera really does make a difference, but i
still believe that the photographer is the
KEY!

Yes, awesome shot, Pete! Ben's
cutback/dropout is radical and the wave looks
really turbulent. In reading your notes, my
thoughts were along Josh's lines. Everything
works - Ben even matched his surf trunks to
the board colors!

I like to look at the Exif info on shots like
this to see how you did it. 1/4000 sec really
got you the sharpness and froze the movement
- fantastic.

@Wayne, at least that's what we tell
ourselves when we're trying to justify the
purchase of an expensive new lens or camera
;-) By comparison, this shot was taken with equipment costing 1/6th as
much, and while the action isn't as
interesting, technically they're not too far
apart.

Just saw this one on the explore page. So how
much do you have in the fund now, and
Christmas is coming too. Who knows maybe
there really is a Santa.....LOL. Good job and
fantastic capture.
I just looked it up...it's a $3,000 lens.

I just did a google search. You are right I
was looking at the IF and not the IS. That
many more pennies you need to save for the
