In 2007, city officials published a report that details what would happen with a projected 1-3 feet of sea level rise. An accompanying power point presentation shows how the Port Peninsula and most of downtown Olympia would be covered with water if sea level rise reaches 3 feet. The report also states that the situation could be even worse. “The latest literature indicates that the global rise in sea levels is progressing more rapidly than was previously assumed.” Courtesy of City of Olympia.
