The lens is just too cool at full aperture,
though I am not skilled enough to take full
advantage.

@metzgarpaul: The framing in the subject
lens is the hard part. In this shot the lens
axis wasn't targeted right at the camera so
there's the shadow on the top - oh well.
Having said that, it's not really that
difficult with camera on tripod and a remote
shutter release. Try it!
More difficult would be Hsu who's shot I
mention above. :^)
