Several "ghost shoppers" walked through the frame during the course of the 30-second exposure. I saw no need to get any model releases.

When walking one evening in downtown Corvallis, Oregon, as I crossed an alley I saw the first four letters of the Safeway neon sign in my peripheral vision. The irony was too much to ignore, so I ran to the car and fetched my camera and tripod. This is a 30-second exposure. I then used PhotoShop to desaturate everything except for the word which drew me to take this shot in the first place.
