processing

the following photos were all processed using processing. processing is an open source software package that allows you to programmatically create, manipulate and animate images. see their website for more info. see my processing gallery for some of my animations created with processing


while some of the manipulations *could* have been done via other apps - photoshop, the gimp, etc.... - what i like about processing is that it give me control over what has done - and as such combines two of my passions - programming and photography.

note: in some cases, other image editing software (the gimp, picasa) was used in addition to processing..

although i am quite proud of these, i still consider these experiments. for someone who has programmed as long as i have, processing was fairly easy to learn. i am working on how to use it artistically. so while i am quite proud of these, i bet my usage of it will evolve. it will be interesting to see where this leads.
