Start mowin' boy! It ain't gonna do itself
now!
While you're at it, toss the photo under
the mower. I find the colours a bit muted
for a shot that lacks any other elements but
grass and sky.

i think this photo is as good as it could
ever get. it's always going to be soft,
always delicate on the structure, and you
nailed the white line. it is what it is.

that's not the earth, that's agribusiness.
undoubtably the soil below that pretty green
grass is a toxic soup of herbacides and
pesticides.

In the Rate Me! group, I'd give this a 4 (5 is best) for
technical excellence (esp lighting) and a 2
or 3 for zing (5 is best). Very, very close
to the equivalent of "saveme..."
I don't know what you're trying to
communicate here. So it's a little hard to
rate the pix on technical excellence.
Abstractly, it's just a very pretty snapshot
of a field and the point of view (where you
put the camera and the viewer's eyes) has
nothing unique about it.
Heck, I might like this even better if you
rotated the camera 30 degrees and tilted the
borizon and line on the road to go lower left
to upper right.
The clouds are cool. But the sky and clouds
aren't outstanding.
When I saw the thumbnail, I thought I was
looking at a Microsoft supplied desktop
wallpaper...attractive, colorful, etc. Viewed
close up and large scale, it still feels like
that.
Technically, you are to be really commended
for dealing well with the range of EV
(exposure value -- light levels) in the
scene. Wow. The roadway's black has fine
texture to it, the white line isn't blown
out!!! (look at it full size) and the clouds
aren't blown out!!! (ok, so there's a tiny
building in the background that might be but
who cares...excellent technical job on the
lighting ...) did you shoot this on film and
then scan the image? This EV range is very
hard with a digital camera.
In the end, this just misses
"saveme" in my scoring by a little.
But the little has to do with imagination,
creativity and communication...you DO
communicate but the pix doesn't do it very
well...
Great shooting...

oh whoops, i think i was talking about the
clouds...
oh, but thats not the earth either is it
tanguero? just a disgusting mess of
pollutants, huh? oh and that toxicmess soil
under that stupid grass? yeah thats not the
earth is it, cause we put that stuff there
and we would never put it in the earth now
would we...
you're right, thats not the earth.
just for bringing those statements forward,
this photograph is EXCELLENT.
thank you tanguero for proving my point. i
believe you should now change your vote.

this is nice, but my eyes only go to the
pokey powerline tower or whatever that is,
since everything else is to horizontal.

I keep looking to the photo and trying to
find a reason to save it but nothing so
far...
To me it's just a sterile photo.

Close but just not 'abstract' enough for a

Wow - interesting to see this area in Spring.
Was just there in summer and it looked
totally different - not green at all! Nice
roadside shot!
