To take full advantage of Flickr, you should use a JavaScript-enabled browser and
install the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player.

They've installed these on all the curbs and benches in uptown to prevent the skaters from skating off of them. I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad idea. People complain uptown Charlotte is boring, but if you scare away all the creative folk (skateboarders, anyone?) you're left with nothing but boring bankers and professional people.
