Over 170 monkeys live free at the Iwatayama Monkey Park on the slopes of Mount Arashiyama, Kyoto.

Here is one of the rangers and his "assistant" - he was able to tell me the name and date of birth of all 20 and something monkeys around us! It was a rare chance to see them in their natural habitat and even feed them (from inside a fenced-in enclosure)
