Debbie and I went for a glorious fall hike on Monday to Taylor Lake in Banff park. The conditions were perfect: fresh first snow, golden larches, still blue skies, clean moist forest air, pure solitude, and clear views down the Bow Valley to other mountain peaks gleaming white with fresh snow. Quite the contrast to heading into the office for another week of work...

The lighting looks insane. You weren't
kidding when you said Canada was beautiful.
The landscapes seem so dramatic. This is one
