Joe- I love this one. All the GGB pics out
there.....and this one really stands out.
Well done. Shadow in the water of the bridge
is amazing....as is the effect of the cloud
bank on the other side. (Not to mention a
great exposure!)

Since I am on the East coast, I am going to
have to depend on you guys out in San
Fransisco to go out and shoot this bridge for
me so I can see stuff like this. It's so

I do hope it will stay this way for the next

 No worries about the "spam".
As for space at the top, on some level I
agree. I spent about 3 hours up there
shooting the bridge, just waiting for the
right conditions. These shots were taken
near the end of the evening and I had been
patiently waiting for the moon to rise high
enough to actually get out of frame. I
already had plenty with the moon in it, and
wanted to try some without. Anyways, that's
the reason for the tight crop. I'll probably
upload some more shots from earlier in the
evening where the moon is also visible.
And those are definitely star trails. The
exposure was about 20 seconds long as I
recall (it should be visible in the exif data
too). By 20 seconds stars begin to show
clear trails when you zoom in.
Thanks again for all of the wonderful
comments. It's really encouraging for me (an
amateur hack with an entry level SLR)!

While I appreciate every individual comment,
rather than respond to each individually I'll
just say again - thanks so much for all the
kind comments!
 It should be visible in the exif data (where
it says 'more properties') but for the record
it was 24mm, f/4.5 (wide open), 20s exposure,
ISO200 with in-camera noise reduction.
I actually started by metering the shot for
the first frame of a panorama that had more
shadow, so this ended up on the bright side
but I'm happy with the result. I still have
to stitch that panorama together too.
