hehe ...
of course! What do you think would happen,
if only a single element would be damaged?
You can be lucky, you don't have an Arab name
...
Nevertheless, it is a gorgeous image!

The Canon could be a concealed wire-cutting device... Or
could it be that parking/walking on a bridge
with heavy traffic is frowned upon..?

Thank you all! =)
Damiel, you wouldn't want to park on that
bridge. There is a sidewalk for pedestrians
and bicycles. You can cross the whole thing,
which is just 1.7 miles one way. I made it
from the South side only to the first tower.
Taking pictures which were not exactly
postcard pictures. Which raised suspicion of
bridge workers, who were so picturesque that
I even wanted to shoot their portraits. I
guess they tipped security and on my way back
I was greeted by two bulky uniformed dudes
with sidearms. The third one came from the
other side on a bike. No, they didn't
handcuff me (that would be some adventure!).
I talked my way to freedom discussing the
merits of non-traditional choice of subjects
versus postcard-photography. I was close to
asking them to pose for me, but that would be
a stretch... I was glad to get away without
posing myself... for a mug shot.

Very interesting picture and story! The
parking on the bridges is prohibited
everywhere, i think. And we all understand
why. But such strictness to photographer...
У нас другая тенденция. Заходя с камерой в
церковь вы можете услышать: "У нас
нельзя фотографировать! Но вы можете
приобрести разрешение за 100 рублей"...

Thank you friends!
@MB - yes, I put my MF's aside for a while. No
time. I took this Canon on this trip to SF
just because I knew I wouldn't have enough
time either. I thought I'd need zoom to be
flexible. I can't tell you how many times I
wished I had any of my MF's or Exakta with
telephoto with me! Next time.
@Andrey - There was a lot of change after 9/11. And
people are getting used to it. As for your
remark about Moscow churches - yes,
everything's for sale...

Interesting story behind the photo. Good that
they didn't take the film from you. Clean and
with really glowing colours. They could be
even stronger with the cloud at the bottom
cropped away?

Thanks Bosse! =)
You might be right. The composition
could've been stronger without that cloud.
And I was thinking of that. Then I figured
that the cloud was there for the reason. I
mean - it kinda brings an element of nature
into this industrialization accolade. I also
thought it worked for the contrast and for
creating a depth. But again, it's me, and
when you're looking at your own picture for
too long, your judgement deteriorates...

I like the picture very much and such an
interesting story to go with it. Glad you
left safely.
I am sometimes aware of getting into a
situation like that for eg. when I got near
to the soldiers I photographed recently I was
expecting a hand on my shoulder.
