Great shot, and I like the blur in the
background.

its nice, but needs something more to make it
different from so many other shot, the green
on green makes it a little bland imo

It lacks some sharpness, and I think some
work could be done a bit more on the tone to
emphasize the sci-fi feel. This shot, if it
were sharp and clear on the focus point (it's
not quite there), would be saved. But it's
not =(

liber forgot his tag..
The colors are not right and i don`t like
the far left hand corner of the image. it
would benefit from some cropping.

MrsMeep: Thanks for the info on the flower. I'd love
to see it in full bloom but alas they are in
Montreal and I'm back in Philly.

Stella. I believe the "boring" comment came out of the
"DeleteMe" group where comments are
often critical. In general, their critical
nature can point out the small details one
can easily miss. While the personal ones can
just be ignored.
Regardless, thanks for the defense and glad
you liked the photo.

Borealnz. Thanks. I was told that these are a sight
to see when in full bloom, as you grow these,
you wouldn't happen to have any photos of
them?

I think this photo could stand a better crop
I believe a portion of the left side could
be left out.

Sorry Robert, no I don't have any photo of
them but will definitely try and take one
this summer (still winter here in NZ). Each
of the little spikes turns into a tiny floret
and the flower does look striking.

Ah, didn't catch the "nz" in your
name till now. I could deal with a little
winter chill right now as we've been going
through a heat wave for the past week.
All the spikes as flowers that does sound
like quite a sight.

The defender is very catching. Popping
colour, the movement and possibility for
narrative is very strong. The challenger has
a bit too much space on the left, and the
colour seems a bit flat.

I grow these in my garden - I would try to
revisit them when they flower - the blue of
the flowers would help this photo pop. It's a
good shot, but a little flat - try a little
work on the contrast, but it is not nearly up
to the standard of the defender.
