Shawn, this looks very good. In fact first I
though that it was an HDR. However, when I
look at the larger view I see that clouds are
pixilated. Is that true on your monitor too?
I assume you played around with curves to
get this effect on the building? Or did you
do something else? You can mask away the
clouds so and still get the same effect on
the building.
Again, the light is great and the details
have come out nicely.

it was mainly a manipulation of the
shadows/highlights, then tweaked with levels,
saturation, and contrast. and yeah, the
clouds got a bit noisy with all the
manipulation, but given they were hardly
showing up at all in the original take of
this, it was necessary.
and leafy, i see those circles now too (now
that the sun is shining thru the window
behind my display). must be dust on my slr's
sensor :(

i'm still undecided at the moment. the best
feature i've found so far is the macro
between 200-300, but i can't tell if its my
own inability to shoot things correctly or
what, but the focus point always seems to be
an inch in front of my subject, thus leaving
the subject blurred, and it's annoying me. i
think i have to just keep tryin it out, but
i'm debating selling it and buyin a used
canon 70-300 IS i found somewhere.

Although I don't know much about photoshop, I
know that I like this image. The green of the
door really is what sells it for me.

Great photo! What many people don't know is
that the top of Hamerschlag is full of
antennas for the CMU amateur (ham) radio
club. You can see some of them in this
picture. The green door is the access from
the radio club room onto the roof. There is
also a weather monitoring station up there.
