Samo Budna ♪

Portrait of Samo Budna and his brand new still unnamed band. The photograph was taken in Beltinci, Prekmurje in a rehearsal hall for bands called Ambasada. Samo Budna is preparing a new album and we will take some individual portraits for promotion as well.

I have mounted a 18-35mm Nikkor lens and took a hood from the AF Nikkor 85 F1.4 and set the focal lenght to 18mm to get this radial vignette around the corners. I took a step closer to the singer (Samo Budna) to get the feeling like I was looking through the lock. Lighting set up is combined from four Speedlights and two umbrellas, one for the band and one from the left side of the singer.

Isn't she adorable? :) I had some difficulties by shooting her because she is very playful but in the end I was stunned with this shots. I think I had the most luck with the third on even though it is not eyes-focused I guess this image is the most powerful.

Jaka - the RGB basketball player :)

Finally Flickr added more details on the map so you can see from now on where I live :) It's a beautiful place surrounded with green hills on each side of the valley Drava.

I took some shots of my cousin Jaka on the porch while he was playing the basketball. And today he also became a proud member of the Nikon P80! :)

Vlado Kreslin

Vlado Kreslin is kind of an icon of Slovenian part called "Prekmurje". A land with low altitude (height above sea level), endless flat surfaces and golden fields of various cereals. He is famous with the hat and black guitar. In the background of his music you can hear familiar sound of local instruments especially with his latest song called "Z Goričkega v Piran" (the meaning of the song title is a trip from the one part of Slovenia to another, to the coast across the diagonal of the land).

Right now I've noticed someone admires my photographs and used them for a "music-video" of Kreslin's remix song Z Goričkega v Piran with the Slovenian group called Carpe Diem.
