Leaving Port, Hong Kong
I sometimes like to go out & about shooting and to make things interesting I take just a single prime lens and I work around it's strengths and limitations, often discovering more about the capabilities of the lens in the process - and this Sunday it was the Canon 135/2.0L.
This lens is known to be one of the sharpest in the Canon line-up and I believe that it more than lives up to the hype.
This shot is un-cropped and the buildings in the background are (I'm estimating) at least a KM from where I was stood. Looking at the photo in 'Original' size, I can easily pick out individual figures standing on the decks of the white ship. I can also clearly see from the tail decal that the aircraft in the sky behind is from Cathay Pacific.
In short, this lens is quite magnificent. Secondly, it's not a typical lens one might choose for shooting landscapes or cityscapes, but there's something pretty special about the images it leads you to take - it definitely forces one to 'look differently' than if one were working with a more conventional wide-angle lens.
The late afternoon light and the reflective windows seem have combined to give this photo an odd HDR kind of look.

West Kowloon, Hong Kong
A nice late afternoon light shot of what's soon to be Hong Kong's tallest building.
This one shows the real scale of this record-breaking structure - the tower blocks to the right are in reality absolutely huge and the Star Ferry down in the water just looks like a toy.
For those of you viewing in Hi-Def, there's an airliner passing in the background - it too looks like an insect.
The shot was taken using the Canon 135/2.0L - one of the very best prime lenses in the Canon range - perfect for capturing intricate detail like this.
