Birthday Bokeh
June 28 is a special day. On that day in 2003 my entire family gathered on the occasion of my parents' wedding anniversary (Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!). We all gathered on that particular anniversary, not because it was a milestone year, but because we were in the hospital celebrating the birth of my youngest son (Happy Birthday!!!!). Yesterday he turned 5 and immediately informed us that is bed time is now 9:30 because he is not a little boy any more!
Uploaded on Jun 29, 2008 Dash for HelenI have not been on-line for the past several days, and will not likely be on very much for the first part of this week. However, my brother just called me and asked me to post a photo. I asked him what photo he wanted me to post, and he simply told me to find one I liked and post it with the "Dash" poem, as a colleague of his from work has suddenly passed away. He wanted me to post something so that when he arrives in Kentucky he can share it with his co-workers....so here's one for Helen....I never knew Helen, but if her passing moved my bro enough to ask for this, she must have been a wonderful lady!

I wanted to use something other than the usual flower photo for bokeh wednesday. When I saw this string of lights outside of a restaurant in Hoboken, NJ on Sunday, I knew that was my shot! Better yet, this is straight from the camera!

Window to the Past
We (my family and one of my brothers and his family) met my parents for Father's Day at Ellis Island yesterday. He was intrigued by some of the photos that I posted last week, and was excited about going himself. Those are two of my sons sitting in that BIG window. It wasn't terribly crowded, but I only had about a nanosecond to shoot this while nobody else was walking in front. This is straight from the camera!

Have a Ball on Father's Day
My dad is a huge baseball fan. Several weeks ago I took my family to a Phillies game. In the Diamond Club at Citizen Bank Park there is a wall made of baseballs. As soon as I saw it, I knew that if I could get a good shot, it would be something Dad would love for Father's Day. Well, here is a digital version....the original 12x18 is signed and framed and will be presented to him when I see him at lunch.
